Did you know there's a growing wine industry in Connecticut? We may not be quite at the name recognition of Napa Valley yet, but we have some gorgeous wineries in the Constitution State. We have nearly 50 wineries in Connecticut boasting an array of delicious flavors and varieties, and Miranda Vineyard in Goshen makes for a picture-perfect day trip!

One winery that we love is Miranda Vineyard. Located out in Goshen, this place is so charming.

Manny Miranda started Miranda Vineyard in 2001, and it was actually the first vineyard in Goshen. Manny learned to make wine from his father, who learned the art from his father and grandfather.

The winery was modeled after his family's Portuguese vineyard.

The winery is part of the Passport to Connecticut Farm Wineries program. The program started in 2006 and now includes a phone app where people can get virtual stamps for each winery they visit.

You're welcome to enjoy the lovely outdoor deck throughout the warmer months. It's a great place to have an al fresco meal! For the winter, there's an indoor fireplace that's delightful to sip wine around.

This is a gorgeous winery at any time of year, but the fall foliage makes it particularly beautiful in the autumn.

There's something special about visiting somewhere where you can see every stage of development of what you are consuming. Seeing the grapes grow on the vine as you are sipping the wine that they will eventually become is a surreal experience!

Miranda's award-winning wines come in a number of varieties, including holiday wines, reds, and whites.

Their Goshen Farmhouse red is a particular favorite of Nutmeggers!
