Located along I-70 near the Colorado/Kansas border is that of Burlington; a town of 4,000 that was established in 1888 in anticipation of the incoming railroad.
Referred to as "Colorado's backyard," Burlington became a major hub for agriculture after its original plans to become a junction for multiple railroads didn’t pan out and today produces some of the largest quantities of corn and wheat in the state.

Originally manufactured in 1905 for Elitch Gardens, the Philadelphia Toboggan Company Carousel #6 was sold to Kit Carson County in 1928 after Elitches acquired a more modern carousel and STILL runs today.
