Redstone is an unincorporated town that is part of Carbondale. It's actually a National Historic District, too.

This town was established in the late 1800s by industrialist John Cleveland Osgood as a coal mining town. He built 84 cottages and a 40-room hotel for his employees there.

The coke ovens on the edge of town are a remnant of Redstone's past.

Many of the homes Osgood built are still in use as homes today.

It's all very charming.
