This Dreamy Train-Themed Trip Around Cincinnati Will Take You On The Journey Of A Lifetime

There's something so magical and nostalgic about trains. Everyone seems to love them and if you add a train to a restaurant, museum, or attraction, it's bound to draw a crowd. In Cincinnati and the surrounding area, there are several spots to visit where you can ride, watch, and even eat on a train. In fact, there are so many places that we couldn't fit them all into one dreamy train-themed day trip. Instead, we've planned five stops - each with a train feature - that you could easily do in a day and will take you on the journey of a lifetime.

Stop #1: LM & M Railroad

We'll start our day of train fun at the historic Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad. This picturesque train station offers a variety of rides through Warren County. You can find it in downtown Lebanon, and be sure to check out their website to choose the excursion that is right for you. They offer everything from themed rides for kids (like Thomas the Train and the North Pole Express), to Wine and Beer Tasting rides. Just plan ahead because these do book up fast!

Stop #2: EnterTRAINment Junction

Our next stop is not far away and is a train-lover's dream come true. EnterTRAINment Junction is the world's largest indoor train display and is a magical experience for both children and adults. You'll walk through time and see the history of trains brought to life in miniature form. If you plan on moving on to our other stops, you'll have to move quickly, but you'll likely want to plan another trip back to see it again.

Stop #3: Zip's Cafe

After a train ride and a museum stop, you'll definitely need a delicious meal. Zip's Cafe in Mt. Lookout is the perfect spot with mouthwatering cheeseburgers and its very own model train that encircles the cafe. The nostalgic feel of Zip's will perfectly accompany your train-themed day, and also bring you back into Cincinnati for the rest of your destinations.

Stop #4: Behringer-Crawford Museum

Just a short drive from Zip's, across the river into Devou Park in Covington, you'll find the beautiful Behringer-Crawford Museum. This hidden gem celebrates the history of transportation with plenty of exhibits featuring rivers, roads, rails, & runways. While there are several trains to see year-round, the museum is especially known for its intricate train display at Christmas time.

Stop #5: Cincinnati Dinner Train

What better way to wrap up a perfect day of trains than with dinner aboard a historic railroad car? The Cincinnati Dinner Train is an elegant and timeless experience, as you'll enjoy a delicious dinner and drinks while riding through Cincinnati. It's the ultimate train-themed outing within our city, and the exclamation point on a dreamy day of riding the rails.

Trains will always be a popular attraction, thanks to their nostalgic charm and history. Have you been to all of the stops on our train-themed trip around Cincinnati? Where is your favorite place to see trains? We can't wait until the renovations and restoration is complete at Union Terminal, because that will definitely be back on our list!
