Make a stop in downtown Los Angeles to check out The Last Bookstore. Located in the Spring Arts Tower in 22,000 square feet of space, it’s the most breathtaking bookstore you’ve ever seen. The bookstore buys, sells, and trades books too! You’ll also find the Arts & Rare Book Annex, vinyl records, graphic novels, yarn, and art. There are over 250,000 books in this huge retail space, so the Last Bookstore will certainly please everyone in your family. There are lots of quirks you can find in this expansive space, including a well-known book tunnel and haunted bank vaults! While of course, it isn’t really the last bookstore, it is definitely a unique and memorable one. 3. Galleta Meadows Sculptures - Borrego Springs
For a combination of the great outdoors and art appreciation, go out to the small town of Borrego Springs to the Galleta Meadows Sculptures. Located in Anza Borrego State Park, about 90 miles northeast of San Diego, you’ll find fascinating metal sculptures with a pretty background of the San Ysidro mountains. You’ll feel the movement in the sculptures when you take the time to really look at them. They interact with the natural environment and really feel like a part of their surroundings. 4. Corvette Diner - San Diego
If your family is in the mood for some time-traveling fun, continue your drive over to San Diego for a blast from the past! This 1950s-themed diner is a great time for you and the kids. You’ll be charmed by the poodle skirts, vintage decor, and classic diner fare. Corvette’s parent company, the Cohn Restaurant Group, is known for its great dining experiences. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to another decade, with jukeboxes, t-birds, whimsical booths, and as many malts as you could want.
