Tiburon is on the steep tip of the Tiburon peninsula. Though it is definitely a coastal town just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, it is often compared to a New England fishing village due to its quaint nature.

If you want your autumn trip to be car-free then jump on the ferry from San Francisco. However, you can easily get to Tiburon by car too.

The Main Street of Tiburon has been preserved as it was when the town was a Gold Rush train town. The scenic "Ark Row" shops are housed in turn of the century boat houses that were converted into homes and shops.

Take time to look around the surrounding hills with homes. The Tiburon Peninsula reaches south into the San Francisco Bay. The smaller city of Belvedere occupies the south-west part of the peninsula.

Railroad & Ferry Museum

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Railroad & Ferry Museum is a great way to learn about the rich railroad and maritime history of Tiburon. The museum showcases a working scale model of the Point Tiburon yard circa 1900-1910.
