We're talking about the kind of relaxing oasis where you can lounge under a cabana, sip a tropical drink, and let the summertime breezes take you away ... and Austin is full of them! It's true: You don't have to go far to feel like you're on a million-dollar vacation here in our little corner of Texas. These eight places in and around Austin are like a Caribbean paradise in the summer.
1. Son's Island: Seguin
Escape to Seguin, Texas, and experience summer in the best way possible. This tropical getaway is home to crystal-blue water, shady cabanas, and exciting adventures. You won't want to miss out on Son's Island.

2. Sandy Creek Park: Leander
You don't have to go far in order to experience the beach life. Simply drive to Leander and lounge at Sandy Creek Park, which we consider to be one of the best beaches in Austin, Texas! This breezy oasis sits along the shores of Lake Travis and it glistens with beauty. The bright shoreline stretches as far as the eye can see, the waters are refreshing, and the scenery is so distinctly Texas.
3. Hamilton Pool
Hamilton Pool's emerald waters never cease to amaze visitors. One of the most beautiful places in Texas (and the country), Hamilton Pool features a cerulean blue pool located beneath an expansive limestone grotto. A 50-foot waterfall flows into the pool, making for a completely enchanting experience that's truly too beautiful to be real. This place of pure fantasy formed thousands of years ago when the dome of an underground river collapsed due to erosion; today, it's a popular swimming hole for Texans looking for their very own summertime oasis. 4. Krause Springs: McKinney
Krause Springs is one of the few camping destinations that doesn't require a reservation, but get there early! This beloved spot fills up quickly. People come from all around to pitch a tent in the scenic greenbelt and make a splash in the refreshing pool. There's even a rope swing for those adventurous souls.

7. The Comal River: New Braunfels
This lazy river in Texas will put you in the summertime spirit. These emerald waters are only about an hour outside of the city. To get there, drive down to New Braunfels, rent an inner tube, and get ready to float like a jellyfish!
