The town of Heber Springs only has a population of around 7,000 people, but there’s big fun waiting for you there. This little town serves as the gateway to both Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River, and it's right next to Sugar Loaf Mountain. In Heber Springs you’ll find world-class resorts, incredible water sports, and some of the prettiest places in the Natural State. You definitely don't want to miss out on this fantastic little town surrounded by some of the best waterways in the state.

Heber Springs is a planned community, and it was originally called Sugar Loaf. That’s because it’s right next to stunning Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Greers Ferry Lake is just six miles north of Heber Springs, and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Every year in July, you can find the World Championship Cardboard Boat Races on Greers Ferry Lake. Even if you don’t know anyone who’s competing, it’s an adorable thing to watch.

You’ll find incredible Sandy Beach at Greers Ferry Lake.

The lake is popular for all kinds of watersports.

It’s also the perfect place to relax.

The Little Red River emerges from the dam at Greers Ferry Lake, and it’s basically magical.

This river is a world-class trout fishing stream. In fact, the current world record brown trout was caught in the Little Red River.

It was a forty pounder.

If resorts are your thing, you simply have to visit the Red Apple Inn & Resort...

...though Lindsey’s Resort on the Little Red River is also absolutely fantastic.

There’s a lodge, a restaurant, a marina, and some secluded cabins there.

It isn’t all lake, river, and resorts though, in Heber Springs you’ll also find the Ellen Hobgood Gallery where you can buy fabulous art by local artists.

The downtown district of Heber Springs is a fantastic place to shop and eat.
