12 Reasons Arkansans Are Really Glad They Don’t Live Anywhere Else
Arkansas is a great place to live due to its natural beauty, friendly people, and low cost of living.
Way back in 2014, USA Today determined that Arkansas was the sixth most miserable state in the U.S. Now, I’m not just sore about this because Oklahoma came in ninth and there’s no way Oklahomans are more content than Arkansans. I’m sore about it because I’m grateful to live in Arkansas. I suppose most of you are glad to live here too, so I’ve constructed a list about why we’re glad we don’t live anywhere else.
1. There’s nothing better than knowing that the Natural State deserves its nickname.
2. Folks are friendly here.
3. Our cost of living is low.
4. Even if we had to depend on only things produced in Arkansas, we’d still be able to eat well.
The only thing we don’t grow here are citrus fruits.
5. We can always find solitude when we want it.
6. There are still untouched places in the Natural State where we can get away from it all.
7. We don’t really have to worry all that much about frequent, destructive earthquakes.
I’m looking at you, Oklahoma.
8. 50,000 acre wildfires aren’t really a thing here.
Poor California.
9. Hurricanes occasionally bring lots of rain, but not total destruction.
10. Blizzards? Ice storms, sometimes, but not blizzards.
11. Serious, debilitating drought? Nope, not really.
12. When we do suffer the devastating effects of natural disasters, Arkansans help each other out.
Basically Arkansans are the luckiest . . .
. . . we have the best parts of nature . . .
. . . the best people . . .
. . . and the most self-sufficiency.
Miserable? Heck no, USA Today. We’re good here.
