Living in any Arkansas town has its perks, but this one city just doesn't stop winning awards. From standard essentials like good education to more difficult feats like creating an inclusive community, Fayetteville strives to provide the best living in Arkansas.
Fayetteville recently made the top five yet again for U.S. News & World's report on "Best Places To Live."
The criteria included the cost of living, quality of life, job market health, desirability to live there, and overall value.
Fayetteville's strong encouragement of local businesses earned the city its top ranking spot.
Supporting local business is a multifaceted way to meet all the report's criteria at once.
A strong education system also contributed to the report's criteria of desirability.
It would be hard for any Arkansan not to favor the home of the Razorbacks.
The U.S. News report was particularly fond of the endless choices for outdoor activities in the city.
We are talking about the Natural State, after all. From parks to playgrounds, the city is nestled in the state's flora rather than developed on top of it. Fayetteville is also home to the only botanical garden in the state, which is yet another family-friendly way to enjoy the greenery.
What sets Fayetteville apart from other places in Arkansas (and about 120 other top cities in the nation) is the strong sense of inclusion.
It's rare to find a town that can have repeatedly record-shattering attendance for a myriad of events from the farmers market to block parties and pride parades to motorcycle rallies. Everyone can feel at home in Fayetteville.
Congratulations to Fayetteville for representing the Natural State well!
We already knew that Arkansas is the best to live, but it's nice knowing that the rest of the nation knows it, too.
