This Arizona Christmas Town Is Straight out of a Norman Rockwell Painting
Sedona, Arizona, transforms into a festive wonderland during the holiday season with snow-covered red rocks, a lantern festival, and igloo dining.
There are plenty of enchanting Christmas towns in Arizona to visit this year, but Sedona is definitely one of the best. From seeing the iconic red rocks blanketed in snow to attending a magical lantern festival and dining in a private igloo, holiday cheer is around every corner here. It's truly reminiscent of a painting, and a visit promises to warm your holidays in Arizona this year.

If you've never visited Sedona at Christmastime, make plans to do so this holiday season. The popular tourist destination is much less busy during the colder months — and it looks like a scene from a painting when it snows.
A trip to Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village will have you feeling festive in no time. This shopping village is one of the most popular spots in Sedona, and for good reason. Not only will you have the opportunity to shop for unique gifts at one of its many shops or dine in one of its restaurants, but it is quite magical here during the holiday season.

On Friday, December 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the holiday season kicks off with the Annual Tree Lighting at Tlaquepaque. Families can gather to watch the lights, visit with Santa, and enjoy festive entertainment and refreshments. Throughout the rest of the season, you'll find yourself marveling at a 26-foot-tall Christmas tree and basking in its luminous glow while you do your holiday shopping.

In addition to the tree, Tlaquepaque boasts numerous twinkling light displays throughout the property, and it will make you think you've been transported into a Hallmark movie. You'll also have several opportunities to meet (and take pictures with) Santa in the village and attend the annual Festival of Lights, a beloved tradition featuring over 6,000 luminarias that illuminate the night sky.
There is also a celebration on the first night of Hanukkah each year, which includes the lighting of the menorah (this year on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.), along with festive food and drink, music, and photo opportunities with Judah the Maccabee.
Get cozy at the Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock, which offers an incredible igloo dining experience throughout the holiday season and winter. The hotel's very own ShadowRock Tap + Table transforms into a magical igloo village, complete with lights, decorations, and, of course, the igloos themselves. Enjoy a delicious meal and festive drinks while pretending you're at the North Pole! This is one of the best seasonal experiences you can have in Arizona.
