While we love our big cities, it's Arizona's small towns that capture our hearts. Here's a town that's rich with history, art and natural beauty.
Please note, Made In Jerome Pottery is temporarily closed.
The little town of Jerome sits high on Cleopatra hill.
Founded in 1876, this mining town once boomed with more than 15,000 residents. Today, it's home to just 450 people, and a popular destination for tourists. You'll find it between Flagstaff and Prescott.
The journey to reach this town is not for the faint of heart.
The road is steep and curvy...but the views are stunning.

The Jerome Grand Hotel is the crown jewel of the town.
Located at the top of Cleopatra Hill, the five-story hotel is said to be haunted. Read our article about the hotel here.
Visit Jerome State Historic Park to learn more about the history of this fascinating town.
The museum is housed in the Douglas Mansion, which was built in 1916 by James S. Douglas, who owned the Little Daisy Mine.
You'll find tons of historic items, mining artifacts and exhibits here.
Visit the Audrey Shaft Headframe to get a glimpse of Jerome's mining history.
The headframe was originally built of wood, and used to pull ore from the 1,900-foot deep mine shaft. The Little Daisy Mine produced 397,000 tons of copper, 221 tons of silver and more than 5 tons of gold between 1915 and 1938.
Don't miss a chance to see the Sliding Jail.
The jail is the third one built in Jerome, but it didn't stay in its original location for long. It slid down the hill about 225 feet, ending up in the middle of the road. The road was diverted to go around the jail, and it was eventually slid into its final resting place.
Jerome is well-known for its artistic community.
You'll find quite a few galleries and shops full of hand-crafted items and beautiful art.
Stop by Cellar 433 for a wine tasting.
Please note, Cellar 433 has permanently closed.
This wine cellar also serves as an art gallery that showcases local artists.
