Tragically, in the mid 1930s a man was found dead in the basement after being pinned underneath the elevator. Considering the elevator was functioning perfectly, some believe that the man's accidental death was actually a murder.
The upset spirit of the man crushed by the elevator is reportedly seen around the hotel, especially in the basement.
