The Old Mining Town In Arizona With A Sinister History That Will Terrify You

Everyone knows that Jerome is one of, if not the, most haunted towns in Arizona, but did you know that plenty of other towns make a close second? Here's one mining town with a deep history and it may actually be one of the most haunted places in the state.

Established in 1902, Bisbee is a mining town that is also known for the many former residents who have yet to leave. The town has seen plenty of violence happen within its boundaries, often resulting in death.

The old Cochise County Courthouse in Bisbee is another spot filled with history and even a ghost!

The courthouse opened in 1931 and is haunted by the first judge to preside there, John Ross. Employees have reported strange occurrences happening here, such as files moving around and cigar smoke lingering in the halls. People have even spotted a glimpse of the judge himself gliding down the hall.

Many of the current hotels in Bisbee are as old as the town itself and have seen their fair share of history. The Oliver House Bed and Breakfast is a house that later became an office, boarding house, and hotel over the years. According to some stories, this building has seen a whopping 27 deaths, a chunk of those resulting from murder. These days, at least five ghosts roam the building, making themselves known to patrons by moving chairs, closing doors and windows, and other spooky, though harmless, actions.

One of the most haunted places you'll find in town is the Copper Queen Hotel.

Built in 1902, the hotel has seen the town grow from a tiny mining camp into a bustling place filled with people from all walks of life. This hotel is haunted by three ghosts. The most famous of those is Julia, a prostitute who committed suicide after falling in love with a client who did not reciprocate her feelings. She is said to haunt one room in particular where she entertained her clients. Here, she often makes herself known to male hotel patrons, who report hearing a female voice, smelling perfume, or feeling something tickle their feet while sleeping.
