1. Birmingham

Birmingham has plenty of holiday attractions to see, but "Glow Wild" is one of the best, so be sure to put this one on your holiday bucket list this year. Located at the Birmingham Zoo, this spectacular light show features more than one million lights, festive lanterns, a holiday village, and delightful seasonal treats. 2. Tuscumbia

One of our favorite Christmas towns in Alabama, downtown Tuscumbia will take you back in time. Its annual "Dickens Christmas Christmas Y'all" festival is reminiscent of the Christmas classic "A Christmas Carol." It'll feature horse-drawn carriage rides, music, vendors, a petting zoo, and more. 3. Fairhope

One of Fairhope's largest annual events is its "Lighting of the Trees," which takes place downtown. People from the community come together to attend this special event. The tree lighting is a time-honored tradition for many experiencing a Christmas in Alabama. However, you don't want to forget about Fairhope's annual "Magical Christmas Parade." It takes place downtown in early December and is a definite must-see!

4. Eufaula

Eufaula is best known for its historic antebellum houses. In 2025, its 20th annual "Christmas Tour of Homes" will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You don't want to miss these beautifully decorated dwellings! They'll certainly put you in the holiday spirit. The 2025 ticket prices are $55.00 for all homes, $85.00 for all homes plus an after-hours reception, or $7.00 for an individual home. 5. Gadsden

"Christmas at the Falls," located at Gadsden's Noccalula Falls Park, features millions of lights and offers amazing views from the park's walking trails. In addition to light displays, several activities are also offered at this attraction, including train rides. This event starts on Nov. 14, 2025, and runs through Jan. 3, 2026 (closed Dec. 24 & Dec. 25) and goes until 10 p.m. each night. 6. Montgomery

On Dec. 2, 2025, the Montgomery Zoo will be transformed into a winter wonderland complete with thousands of brightly-colored lights, festive decorations, and so much more. This holiday event is the annual "Christmas Lights Festival," and will run from Dec. 2, 2025 through Dec. 27, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., nightly. Little ones can travel from Africa to the North Pole via the zoo's "Safari to Santa," seeing glittering light sculptures of animals before visiting Mr. Claus himself. 7. Theodore

This year marks the 30th edition of "Magic Christmas in Lights," located at Bellingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore. This holiday attraction features thousands of lights, stunning decor, and festive poinsettias among the 65-acre garden estate. "Magic Christmas in Lights" will take place from Nov. 25 to Jan. 4 (closed Nov. 26,  Nov. 27, Dec. 25, and Jan. 1) and is open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online and in-person; however, those bought in-person at the admissions counter will be subject to an $8 in-person surcharge. 8. Mooresville

Mooresville, one of Alabama's most historic towns, is so beautiful during the holiday season. Its main draw is the "Holiday Traditions Tour." During this event, guests will get to tour the festively decorated town and its historic buildings like the 1840 Old Post Office, the 1821 Stagecoach Tavern, and the 1839 Brick Church. 9. Huntsville

Huntsville knows what it means to get into the holiday spirit! The two major holiday attractions in Huntsville are the "Galaxy of Lights," located at Huntsville Botanical Garden, and the "Tinsel Trail," located at Big Spring Park. The "Galaxy of Lights" features several light displays, from mesmerizing arches that twinkle and glow as you walk below them to classic holiday scenes you can drive through. This year, it can be seen from Nov. 14, 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026, and will feature both select dates for walking tours and driving tours.
