This adventure leads you to 8 of the very best vineyards in the state, all along the 290 “Wine Trail” going through Fredericksburg. It’s the perfect addition to any Hill Country getaway and only requires about an hour of travel time, so squeezing it in shouldn’t be a problem at all.

It's not easy to cultivate grapes in the semi-arid environment of the Texas Hill Country, but Lost Draw has accomplished that feat and then some. Nestled on 100 acres of beautiful Central Texas land, this winery has been awarded over 200 medals in the last two years alone. The tasting room is reminiscent of a romantic Tuscan villa, and the rustic on-site eatery serves up rich yet refined options that pair perfectly with the wine. Opt either to taste six wines at the bar, tour the sprawling estate and try samples straight from the barrel, or reserve a private room for a specialty tasting complete with a gourmet cheese board.

A variety of different tasting experiences ensure that everyone will leave Becker Vineyards satisfied and happy. Groups of 1-7 can walk in and sample six wines, but you'll have to make a reservation for eight or more people. Other options include a behind-the-scenes tour of the production area with an exotic wine + cheese pairing in the underground cellar and a class on choosing the perfect glass to pour your wine into.

Although situated on an expansive 140+ acres of property, you'll feel right at home at this sixth generation family-owned boutique winery. A fixed tasting menu allows you to experience the full range of wines produced here, including Viogniers and Tempranillos. Pedernales Cellars hosts various dinners and live music performances throughout the season, so be sure to plan your trip accordingly! Paying attention to every minute detail in both winemaking and tasting experiences, they truly pour their hearts into making sure each guest gets the most out of their visit. Tastings at Hye Meadow Vineyard include five wines plus a dry vintage port or white dessert wine to finish, and you'll learn all about the history, philosophy, and specific wines offered here. Established in 1995, Texas Hills has never used any grapes that haven't been grown in our state. The tasting room is located seven miles from Pedernales State Park and has a rugged, natural feel from the cement floors and rammed earth walls. You can also tour the grounds and take in views of rolling hills reminiscent of the Tuscan countryside, making this vineyard a truly perfect way to round out the trip.
