What are the best outdoor adventures in Texas?

Being as though it’s ranked the second-largest state in the US, there is definitely a lot of outdoor adventures in Texas. But the two most obvious sources would have to be its national parks. In southwest Texas, there’s the over 1,200-square mile Big Bend National Park, where you can hike more than 200 miles of trails as well as enjoy scenic drives, camping, biking, and horseback riding. And there are also opportunities for water recreation on the Rio Grande. The Guadalupe Mountains National Park is over in western Texas. In the southern part of the city of Blanco, there is Blanco State Park. From here, you can access the Blanco River, where you can bring your own tube or rent one to use. It’s a nice and easy ride and you can also take a swim here as well. The South Llano River is about 55 miles long. The best section for tubing it is located near Junction within the South Llano River State Park. It’s one of the best floats in TX and a great, calm spot of the river where you can jump in with the whole family and do a two-mile trip.

 If you are looking for state parks in Texas, know that there are an impressive 89. In Canyon, there is the Palo Duro Canyon State Park, otherwise known as the Grand Canyon of Texas due to its colored rocks, walls, geological features, and overall size. The park is actually located at the bottom of the canyon and boasts camping and 30 miles of trails for hiking and biking. Inks Lake State Park is in Burnet. Here, you can fish, boat, hike, and swim as well as take a look at some of the best Precambrian geology around.
