This Beautiful Rose Garden Tucked Away In The West Texas Mountains Is Worth A Visit

Flower gardens are such enchanting places, and there’s one right here in Texas hiding where nobody would think to look: the remote West Texas desert. El Paso Municipal Rose Garden is like a scene straight out of Alice in Wonderland, with over a thousand breathtaking blooms in every color imaginable.
Covering every inch of the garden's four acres are more than 1500 bushes featuring over 430 different species of rose. The first 200 flowers were planted all the way back in 1958, and nobody had any idea that such a small project would turn into something so incredible.
Each year, new rose varieties are planted to see how they fare in the unrelenting El Paso heat. This trial-and-error process has revealed exactly which types are the most formidable, allowing the city to curate an invincible army guaranteed to persist during even the most inclement of conditions.
Always impeccably maintained, the garden looks like a scene from Alice in Wonderland. It only takes a few minutes to see everything, so take your time and really savor every moment.
Plenty of benches and shaded areas offer much-needed relief from the harsh desert conditions. Sit down, close your eyes, and smell the roses; literally - each species has its own distinct aroma, and they all combine for a sweet floral scent unlike anything you've ever experienced.
Little signs beneath all the plants provide a little information about them without being too distracting. Master gardeners are usually available as well and always eager to answer any questions you might have about the flowers.
If you need any professional photos taken, a better place doesn't exist. Maternity, graduation, engagement...the list could go on: any special occasion is made better when commemorated in such an enchanting place.
