Over 500,000 Flowers Will Be In Bloom This Spring At The Dallas Arboretum In Texas
There’s just something about springtime that takes all the heaviness out of the air. Maybe it’s all the lively, vivacious flowers, or perhaps just the feeling of starting anew after a long, desolate winter. Whatever the reason, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is celebrating everything we love about this time of year with its annual springtime festival, Dallas Blooms.
Each year, the Dallas Arboretum bursts with life in a six-week celebration of spring. From February 29 thru April 12, visitors can marvel at 500,000 vibrant blooms, hear live music, eat delicious food, and so much more.
Pastel tulips, the palest of pink cherry blossoms, and nearly 100 additional flower varieties envelop the whole arboretum in a sea of color. Taking a stroll through the grounds is always an unforgettable experience, but it's especially mesmerizing this time of year.
All 12 of the animated gazebos we're used to seeing decked out for the Christmas season take on a much simpler, yet equally elegant, look. Though not filled with life-size nutcrackers or seven swans a-swimming, these little glass houses are perhaps even more beautiful when surrounded by so many pops of color.
From Crape Myrtle Allee to the Children's Adventure Garden, every inch of the more than two-million-square-foot arboretum is covered in blooms. You'll even see topiaries depicting musicians and their instruments as an adage to "Sounds of Spring," an event running concurrent to Dallas Blooms.
'A Tasteful Place,' or the onsite kitchen, is where sustainability meets culinary expertise. Enjoy free samples made with seasonal produce, cooking demos, and more, reveling in unparalleled views of the Dallas skyline over White Rock Lake.
From March 26-29, the 4th-annual Food and Wine Festival returns. Sample an array of robust wines and hors d'oeuvres amidst the eye-popping flowers as you learn about all aspects of food -- everything from harvesting to eating! There's also a market with tons of vendors, making the entire experience a must for foodies everywhere.
For the next few days (until February 28), admission to the gardens is just $5 in honor of the season's very first daffodils. That's a whopping $12 off regular price, so don't waste any time!
