The building was decommissioned in 1992, and it has been left to rot in the elements ever since. Today, those who are brave enough can embark on a daytime ghost tour - or even an overnight paranormal investigation - to see what entities lurk within the walls of this sorrowful place.
Another abandoned place in Texas that's sure to send a chill down your spine is the Palace of the Golden Orbs. Also known as Chong Hua Sheng Mu Holy Palace, this five-story, 40,000-square-foot temple is impossible to miss when you're driving through west Houston. The Taoist palace was abandoned in 2001 after its creator was deported, and it has sat untouched ever since then.
La Carafe is the oldest commercial building in Houston, dating back over 120 years. Located on Congress Street in the heart of the First Ward, this cozy watering hole has more spirits than those offered at the bar.

Allegedly, the road was a battleground during the Civil War, and the restless spirits of those who died here are said to haunt the area. Visitors have reported everything from seeing apparitions on the side of the road to even hearing knuckles rapping against their car windows.
