If you dare, enter the 13th annual Pumpkin Trail at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum this October for some spooktacular, family-friendly Halloween fun.

The event usually takes place on the last Thursday through Sunday in October.

Each year, more than 25,000 people from all corners of the state walk through a trail lined with nearly 2,000 glowing jack-o-lanterns that have been painted and carved in every way imaginable.

Relatively flat and just a third of a mile long, the trail is both stroller and wheelchair friendly.

All of the pumpkins are donated by the community, imparting a feel-good vibe that makes the event so much better than it already is.

From local elementary schools to doctors' offices, everyone pitches in to create absolutely fangtastic displays.

The fun doesn't just take place after dark, either - you can meander along the trail any time after 9 a.m.
