The Treehouse Restaurant In Texas That’s Straight Out Of A Fairy Tale
Nestled in a lush forest grove is a whimsical treehouse where weary travelers are served hot meals by a warm, welcoming family. Woodland creatures frolic about, birds chirping their hellos and majestic deer galloping through the trees.
That passage may sound like it came straight out of a fairy tale, but we’re actually describing a restaurant right here in Texas. At Family Tree Recipes in Magnolia, storybook whimsy comes to life.
Family owned and operated, this aptly-named restaurant is hiding on FM 1488 in Magnolia. Parked out front is the Hillbilly Hilton, a funky house on wheels giving visitors the quirkiest of welcomes. You can’t miss it!
Your eyes will next be drawn to this adorable treetop shack sporting the cafe sign. While much too small to accommodate guests, it serves its purpose of setting the scene just fine.
Meander your way up the winding stone path, watching out for any woodland creatures that may be crossing. Upon reaching a clearing, the restaurant finally emerges; a charming little house that looks like it was plucked out of a fairytale.
Inside, the atmosphere truly looks like a children's storybook. Tree trunks run straight through the room, a whimsical forest come to life. A chalkboard menu and awning with cups hanging from its rafters only add to the coziness.
Family Tree doesn't mess around when it comes to breakfast. Start your day off right with loaded omelettes that take up half the plate, toast, hash browns, and all the other usual suspects.
Plenty of hearty options are available for lunch as well. Burgers, pasta with garlic bread, and other down-home classics leave you more satisfied than Winnie the Pooh after a full pot of honey.
Seafood, salads, and sandwiches are lighter options that don't sacrifice flavor. How does a shrimp po boy with creamy coleslaw sound?
You'll find the restaurant at 12202 FM 1488,
Magnolia, TX 77354. Hours are 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
