You Can Spend The Night In The Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre House This March

On two nights in March, you can actually spend the night on the original movie set in Kingsland. Are you brave enough to accept the challenge?
Now Grand Central Cafe, this seemingly charming farmhouse has a gruesome past. It served a movie set for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre back in 1973 before being dismantled, refurbished, and moved to its current location in Kingsland.
Once the sun goes down, guests will gather 'round the TV for a Texas Chainsaw massacre marathon lasting all night. Watch the whole series from start to finish or play the original on repeat; OSC is game for either option.
Games, both video and board, will keep your mind off the spookiness and create space for everyone to really get acquainted. If you dare to close your eyes, anywhere in the house is fair game for sleep.
Original memorabilia from the movie can be found upstairs, along with kitschy souvenirs like coffee mugs. Take a look around as scenes from the movie play on a terrifying loop inside your head. Walk down the hallway where Leatherface made his grand initial appearance, enter the room that was filled with bones and chicken feathers, and see the exact spot Sally found Grandpa in the rocking chair.
Tickets range from $350-$400 and include a BBQ dinner, drinks, snacks, and a twin air mattress. Guests must provide their own pillows and linens, plus alcohol if desired (please drink responsibly!). Only 13 spots are available for each night, so don't waste any time reserving your spot.
If one night isn't quite enough time to fully absorb the spooky energy, consider booking a room (or train car) at The Antlers Inn next door. You can spend the night in a century-old railroad caboose with the perfect combination of historic decor and creature comforts.
The experience will take place on both Sunday, March 29, and Monday, March 30, 2020. Guests will check in at 4 p.m. and check out at noon the next day.
