With over 6,000 animals from more than 600 species, the Houston Zoo is a pretty big place.
Quite a bit of walking is required to see all of the exhibits in one day, so you'll need to refuel often to keep your energy up.
The zoo has three full-service restaurants and several food trucks dishing out incredible grub, so there are plenty of opportunities to quell your appetite.
One of the most popular dining options is Twiga Café, which serves classic favorites like hamburgers, salad, pizza, and snacks such as trail mix and fresh fruit.
While the food is delicious, it isn't even the best part of enjoying a meal here.
Hours are 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday.
