15 Fireworks Displays In Texas That Put All Others To Shame

Everyone knows that the best part about the Fourth of July is the fireworks shows! With July 4th just around the corner, you’re probably thinking about which fireworks show you will be attending, and with so many spectacular displays in Texas, choosing one can be a bit overwhelming. If you don’t like doing your own fireworks and would rather kick back and watch a show instead, check out one of these July 4th bashes for some seriously amazing fireworks!

1. Kaboom Town (Addison)

This nationally recognized fireworks show has been named No. 2 in the country by Yahoo and praised by countless other media outlets. Admission is free, and festivities run from 4 p.m. to midnight on July 3.

2. Freedom Over Texas (Houston)

This is the largest fireworks display in the greater Houston area and has been the premier destination for July 4th celebrations for Houstonians for decades. Chris Young is headlining the event, and many other chart-topping stars will play on the four music stages. The celebration takes place on July 4 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m at both Eleanor Tinsley and Sam Houston Park.

3. HEB Austin Symphony (Austin)

The biggest fireworks show in Austin is held right on Lady Bird Lake with a spectacular view of the city skyline in the background. The orchestra will begin their performance at 8:30 p.m., and you won't want to miss it!

4. Fireworks Over the Bay (South Padre)

This is the largest display of fireworks on South Padre Island, and the celebration begins at 9:15 p.m.; even better, admission is absolutely free!

5. Fair Park Fourth (Dallas)

This is the fireworks show at the State Fair of Texas, so you can enjoy the thrilling rides, great food, and entertaining games all day before the spectacular fireworks begin! The fair opens at noon and the show begins at 9:37 p.m.

6. Red, White & Blue Festival & Fireworks Extravaganza (The Woodlands)

Second in size only to the Freedom Over Texas festival, this extravagant fireworks show begins at 9:15 p.m. overlooking Lake Woodlands and Town Green Park, and there's plenty of viewing areas available. Start off the day with the parade at 9 a.m., and end it with an amazing fireworks show!

7. San Antonio's Official 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks Extravaganza (San Antonio)

Located at Woodlawn Lake Park, bring the whole family out for an all-day 4th of July bash complete with games, food, music, and a Salute to the Red, White & Blue Parade! Gates open at 8 a.m. and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.

8. Fourth of July Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk (Kemah)

Spend a fun-filled day on the amusement park rides or playing the midway games during the day, and then watch a spectacular fireworks show over the Gulf at 9:30 p.m. Admission is completely free!

9. Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration (Granbury)

With a parade, contests, live shows, a rodeo, and an exhilarating fireworks show, Granbury definitely knows how to celebrate July 4. The show starts at 9:45 p.m. over Lake Granbury.

10. Fireworks over the Brazos (Waco)

Gates open at 5 p.m. at Touchdown Alley next to McLane Stadium, and the fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. You can't miss the fun!

11. Big Bang Celebration (Corpus Christi)

4th of July is celebrated the entire weekend leading up to it in Corpus Christi, and all the festivities culminate in a breathtaking fireworks show from 9:30-10:30 p.m. It's one of the best in the state and definitely shouldn't be missed.

12. Pop Goes the Fort (El Paso)

We didn't forget about our West Texas friends! The annual fireworks show in El Paso starts at 7:30 p.m. at Biggs Park. Featuring the melodic sounds of the orchestra, it's an unforgettable celebration.

13. Salute to Freedom (Brownsville)

Live music, food, and drinks will be enjoyed at Brownsville Sports Park beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at dark, and the show promises to be an incredible one!

14. Lone Stars & Stripes Celebration (Grand Prairie)

You'll have two days to enjoy the festivities in Grand Prairie. On July 3 and 4, gates open at 3 p.m. for family fun, live music, and fireworks as soon as it gets dark.

15. I Love America (College Station)

Each year, the College Station Noon Lions Club puts on an amazing spectacle for the Fourth at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The fireworks start at 9:45 p.m. after a performance by the Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra.
