Channel Your Inner Pioneer When You Spend The Night At This Covered Wagon Campground In Tennessee
Have you ever wondered, “Is there covered wagon camping near me in Tennessee?” Glamping has become a popular vacation experience in recent years, and Tennessee is full of incredible glamping destinations. The opportunities are endless, but it’s at Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort that you will have the chance to spend an evening in a traditional Conestoga-style covered wagon. Located in Sevierville, Tennessee, this neat outdoor resort has fun opportunities for the entire family, and we have a feeling you’re going to make a few lifetime memories along the way. You won’t have to head out on the Oregon Trail to do some covered wagon camping in Conestoga cabins right here in the Great Smoky Mountains area.
Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort is family-owned and operated, and the Tennessee getaway offers myriad accommodations, from glamping tents to tipis and, of course, the famed Conestoga wagons. Rates vary depending on your choice of lodging, and you can also rent a golf cart to get around the site. It should be noted that the tipis are located 700 feet from the parking area and the wagons are 1000 feet, so a golf cart might be a great option to carry all of your stuff.
The Conestoga wagons cost roughly $199 a night, although rates are subject to change. You can also browse the resort’s site for deals (for example, if you choose to stay seven consecutive days, you can get a discount). Each rental has air conditioning and heat for your comfort, and free WIFI, linens, and towels are provided for each guest. The memories, though? Those are all your own!
All wagons include a mini-fridge, microwave, a picnic table, bunk beds, and a king-size bed. Four people can spend the evening comfortably in a wagon. So this is the perfect place to bring your family for your next getaway vacation to the mountains.
The wagons are surprisingly spacious, with king-sized beds, bunk beds, and sitting areas. You would think it might feel crowded, but the space works incredibly well. There is even a small table for you to enjoy a snack or read. We'd say you could enjoy a cup of coffee here, but...
...you would probably rather enjoy it outside! Isn't this fire pit perfect for late nights chats, too? It's easy to imagine yourself and your family enjoying s’mores over the hot coals, and recounting all the adventures you have shared together.
The Smoky Hollow campground is located in famous Sevierville, and it is just a short distance from Winnfield Dunn Parkway. The proximity to creature comforts is a great addition, but you can expect a quiet, calm space all your own when you're in your wagon. You can also expect to see wildlife occasionally visit the campground.
Would you stay the night in a Conestoga Wagon? Can you imagine the kind of memories you will tuck away for the years to come? From the beautiful rolling hills and stunning sunsets, this camping experience is bound to be a great one.
What a neat place to spend the night! Have you ever gone covered wagon camping in Tennessee before? Have you ever heard of the Smoky Hollow Outdoor Resort before? What are the best campgrounds in Tennessee?
There are so many great campgrounds in the volunteer state that it's hard to choose so here are some of my favorites:
Pigeon Forge / Gatlinburg KOA in Pigeon Forge (one of my personal favorites).
Camp Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge for RVing and to stay in the lodge if you dont have one.
Camp Leconte in Gatlinburg for some really nice glamping.
