Stay Overnight In The 126-Year-Old Sheridan Inn, An Allegedly Haunted Spot In Wyoming

The Sheridan Inn in Wyoming is a historic and slightly haunted hotel known for its elegance and famous past guests.

Did you know that Wyoming is home to several of the country's most historic hotels? From the legendary Irma Hotel, built by Buffalo Bill Cody to the gorgeous Old Faithful Inn, you've got a lot of options for a storied stay. One humble hotel stands out above the rest, though, and has won the hearts of travelers over more than a century. The beautiful Sheridan Inn is sure to make an impression on you.

The Sheridan Inn opened in 1893 and has hosted some of the most famous figures of the American West over the past 126 years.

Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakley are just some of the names you'll hear when you ask about famous guests. In fact, Cody owned the hotel for a time. Herbert Hoover and Ernest Hemingway stayed here, too.

Today, this beautiful hotel is one of the top destinations in the Cowboy State. It's known for being elegant, charming, and a little haunted.

One of the Inn's most famous residents and employees, Miss Kate Arnold, worked here for 64 years. She was a seamstress, desk clerk, housekeeper, hostess and the Inn's self-appointed night watchmen.

She only left the Inn after it was purchased and closed down, but her dying wish was to return. After a small ceremony in her private room, her ashes were placed behind a wall. Her spirit remains to this day, looking over everyone who stays at the Sheridan Inn.

Guests today still feel the presence of Miss Kate when they stay here. Footprints are heard, lights are turned on and off, and it's hard to shake the feeling that someone is looking out for you.

This beautiful and historic hotel is still an incredible place for a vacation, and I wouldn't let tales of paranormal activity stop you from experiencing this elegant getaway.

Book your stay at the Sheridan Inn, and you'll be sure to enjoy a relaxing night away from it all... but you might have to share the room with some unexpected company.
