Not Many People Know About This Cozy European Inn Hiding In Wyoming
One of the best things about visiting little underrated Wyoming towns is finding the hidden treasures they harbor. Alpine is a terrific example. Appropriately named, not only is it a quaint mountain town, but it also happens to be the place you'll find one of the most delightful little inns in the state. Nestled against the hills a stone's throw away from the Snake River and Palisades Reservoir, the Nordic Inn is unlike most hotels you've stayed in. It's brimming with European ambiance and Wyoming hospitality, but at least you won't need a passport to visit.
If you're looking for lodgings that are a departure from typical cookie-cutter hotel and motel rooms, you'll love Wyoming's Nordic Inn.
It's located at 1 Colonial Lane in Alpine, across from the Snake River at the opening of a gorgeous, scenic canyon.
From the outside, the cabins are cheery and inviting, but they don't even hint at the elegant comfort they house.
Inside, the décor is a bit different from the rustic, lodge-y look you find in most Wyoming hotels.
You can choose from rooms with a king-sized bed...
...or rooms with one or two queen-sized ones.
The grounds at the inn are as charming as the hotel, offering options for hiking or just sitting and taking in the beautiful Wyoming outdoors.
As a true inn, the Nordic Inn also has a bar and restaurant where weary travelers can get food and drink.
The restaurant - Brenthoven's - is a treasure in itself with a posh dining room...
...as well as an exquisite patio for taking meals outdoors.
The food at Brenthoven's is a fine dining experience. Practically everyone who has eaten there recommends the pumpkin soup, but the chilled shrimp platter is a delicious starter choice that can be shared.
The entrée menu includes turkey, fish, and steak dinners, but a favorite of the guests is the lamb shank dinner.
Brenthoven's also serves breakfast and lunch.
It might be difficult to save room for dessert, but it's well worth the effort!
Whether you stop in for a night or make Alpine a vacation destination, you won't soon forget your stay at the Nordic Inn.
The Nordic Inn is open seasonally, so it fills up fast. In fact, they're already taking reservations for 2018 and 2019.
