When I picture a relaxing getaway, a cabin in the woods comes to mind. You'll find no shortage of these rustic escapes here in Wisconsin, but today's feature destination is far beyond your average cabin stay. Wanderloft is a downright luxurious Airbnb experience nestled lakeside in Phelps, Wisconsin. Think Modern Scandinavian meets the Northwoods. You'll be drawn in by the state-of-the-art architecture and amenities, but what really sets this space apart is the abundance of views.

Wanderloft is a lakeside loft on 9.4 private acres, perched above Manuel Lake. It's situated on one of the highest points of Vilas County, offering rare 360-degree views. The space certainly uses its height; you'll find huge picture windows throughout the home, bringing tons of natural light inside, even in winter.

The windows are shadeless, an intentional design that offers a way to connect with the outside while indoors. Don't worry: The cabin's secluded location ensures privacy. There are also no doorways inside the home, with the exception of the utility room. This maximizes the feeling of an open concept. Each room flows into the next in a beautiful and functional way. There's a fully-stocked kitchen and dining room table to accommodate the whole crew.

Exploring the space, you'll become charmed by its clean, modern aesthetic. There's ample room for sitting, gathering, and resting. One of my favorite details is the wood-burning stove that heats the entire space, sitting right in front of a sweeping view. The cabin can accommodate up to four guests; however, travelers should note that both beds are in the lofted area upstairs. The cabin also features one and a half baths, and the main bathroom boasts a private sauna - the perfect place to unwind after a long day exploring the UP. There are also a few trails on the property if you don't feel like leaving.

As for outdoor space, it's hard to imagine a more impressive setting. A spacious deck and stunning fireplace create the most serene space for breathing fresh air. The lake is quiet year-round, and during the late spring and summer, you'll love the chance to spot birds and migrating monarch butterflies.
