This Amazing West Virginia Campground Is The Perfect Place To Pitch Your Tent

It's camping season and that means it's time to drag out the tent, dust it off and head for the mountains. West Virginia has tons of great camping spots (here are 12 amazing spots to visit), but there's one in particular that offers secluded beauty unlike any other. Check this out!

Spruce Knob is the highest point in West Virginia, standing proud at 4,863 feet. This mountain has tons of recreation opportunities, and a beautiful, secluded campground.

You'll find this campground tucked into the trees along Forest Road. There are 30 standard, non-electric RV sites, but for real peace and quiet, choose one of the 12 walk-up sites.

Each campsite has gravel and a fire pit. You can purchase firewood onsite, and you can also access vault toilets. Drinking water is also available. These sites are rustic, but you'll find yourself surrounded by the most incredible beauty in the state.

There's plenty to do here. More than 60 miles of hiking trails are yours to explore, and all offer amazing views of the mountain.

Spruce Knob Lake is less than one mile from the campground. It offers excellent fishing.

Take a drive to the overlook along a narrow, winding paved road.
