This 5-Acre Waterpark In West Virginia With Its Own Zipline Will Make Your Summer Epic

West Virginia may be a landlocked state, but that does not mean that we're short on fun ways to cool off in the water each summer! Creeks, rivers, ponds, lakes, swimming holes - options for cool summer fun abound. And then, there are the water parks in West Virginia. Floating oases of fun in the sun, West Virginia waterparks, both those on privately run resorts and those compliments of the West Virginia State Park system, are top-notch. But one of the most epic waterparks in West Virginia, one that deserves a visit this summer, is the waterpark at ACE Adventure Resort in the New River Gorge region.

What makes the waterpark at ACE Adventure Resort so amazing? Maybe it's the size - five acres on a spring-fed lake.

Maybe it's the forty-foot-tall Wet Willie Waterslide or the two-hundred-foot-tall twin waterslides.

Maybe it's the massive zip line that runs down to the lake from that climbing tower that's pictured in the back of this photo, looming over the park.

Maybe it's the more than four dozen inflatable toys, including the climbing mountain, the giant spinning Saturn balls, the see-saws, or the obstacle course. Maybe it's the infamous BLOB, off which you can launch your friends into the water... or they can launch you!

For lower-key fun, try the splash pad adjacent to the lake, specifically designed for ACE's youngest guests. And after a day of fun, fill up on pizza and cold drinks at the lakeside patio restaurant.

One important note: the lake closes immediately for any lightning strikes or thunder, and stays closed until thirty minutes after the last thunder rumble. No refunds or rainchecks are issued, so plan your visit for good weather to maximize your time on that zipline running parallel with the waterslide!

If you do get rained out of the lake, take advantage of the complimentary hiking and biking trail access included with every waterpark ticket. Season passes are also available so you can come as often as you like.
