Washington’s Best Kept Camping Secret Is This Waterfront Spot With Over 40 Glorious Campsites

If you love camping, the Pacific Northwest is definitely the perfect place for you. Whether you prefer to sleep under the stars by a rushing river or take your tent deep into the mountains, Washington especially is full of amazing spots. Kayak Point Park is an area that is often used as a day trip destination -- but it's actually a fantastic place to camp. From its 3,300 feet of shoreline to its evergreen forests, it's a true hidden gem.

Kayak Point Park is located in Snohomish County, nestled along the shores of picturesque Port Susan near the town of Stanwood.

While many people head to the nearby and well-known Warm Beach, this place is often a little quieter.

Kayak Point is full of day-used amenities, including plenty of picnic areas with some stunning views...

... and if you have little ones, they'll love the on-site playground.

There's also a short trail system, and while you won't find any lengthy hikes, there are some wonderful nature walks perfect for people of all ages.

Of course, the best part about this park is all the beautiful shoreline.

In the summertime, you'll find plenty of people enjoying their days at the beach.

Kayak Point Park has 30 standard campsites, which are mostly in large, wooded areas.

This means you'll have more privacy than you will at most other campgrounds. The sites are all partial utility, which means power and water hook-ups are available.

In addition to the 30 standard campsites, the park offers 10 yurts for a unique camping experience.

The yurts are ADA accessible, have power (but no bathrooms or running water), and can sleep up to 5. Some of them have picnic tables, decks, and fire rings.

Wherever you end up setting up camp, make sure to catch the sunset over the water.

It's truly remarkable, and you'll understand why the people that find this place tend to love it.
