Surrounded by glaciers, mountains, forests, and volcanoes, the popularity of the Skagit River is not to be underestimated. Additionally, for those without a tent or RV, they offer a one-bedroom studio and have their own fully furnished RV available (but not to take out of the park).

But, of course, everything goes back to the Skagit River, a system which covers 35,000 miles of land in northwestern Washington and has multiple tributary rivers, all ending in Puget Sound. There are almost too many things to do in the area, so it often gets broken down by season. In the summer, rafting, canoeing, and kayaking reign supreme alongside hiking, fishing, rock climbing, and biking (which are popular in spring and autumn as well).

The sheer amount of bald eagles who gather to eat the chum salmon is one of the largest in all of the continental United States, bringing hundreds of these predators every year. Today, there is even a center (the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center) dedicated to educating people about these magnificent birds.
