First Time Camper? This Accessible Campground in Washington Will Make You a Camping Convert

If you are a little apprehensive about spending a night outdoors, this campground near Forks is perfect.

I grew up camping. It seemed like every weekend, we packed our trailer and headed to various campgrounds near our home. After spending years in school for both myself and my husband, camping trips became very rare — almost non-existent — and I feel like I’m a first-time camper all over again. That’s why I love places like Olympic Adventure Campground in Forks, Washington. This quiet, accessible campground has all types of amenities, offers sites for both RVs and tents, and is beautiful as it’s nestled in a dense Washington forest. A stay here will make you a camping convert — see for yourself.

Located less than one mile from Forks and just off Highway 101, Olympic Adventure Campground is the perfect place for new campers to begin an outdoor adventure. You don’t have to travel far into the mountains, and the campground is close to town, making for the perfect place to spend the night outdoors if you are a little apprehensive. Plus, the campground is clean and full of amenities. It’s the perfect home-away-from-home outdoors.

Because the campground is tucked away in the forest, it's easy to find shade and privacy throughout your stay — two things I certainly need on my camping adventures. There are 36 campsites within this campground, with options available for tents and RVs. There are also campsites that have ADA access.

Each campsite features a fire pit, and potable water is available. Electrical, water, and sewage hookups are available at certain sites as well. There are also multiple restrooms located around the campground, with some facilities offering flush toilets and others with a pit toilet. If you desire, showers are available with cold or hot water. Just keep in mind that hot water is an additional charge.

There is also a small store where you can find souvenirs, cold drinks, and more. And while I prefer to disconnect during my camping trips, if you need to connect, Wi-Fi is available.

Don't be surprised if you want to spend all of your time relaxing and enjoying the slower pace of this outdoor destination. However, you are close to bucket-list-worthy destinations like Olympic National Park and the Olympic Discovery Trail, so it's easy to have countless adventures here.

There’s no doubt that Olympic Adventure Campground is the perfect place to stay for both first-time campers and those who venture out every weekend.
