This Mountaintop Yurt Is the Perfect Getaway for Virginia Nature Lovers
This mountaintop yurt Airbnb is the perfect place to stay if you're looking for a glamping getaway in Stanardsville, Virginia.
Have you been craving a relaxing getaway out in nature? There are plenty of great places to stay in Virginia, and, of course, we have some magnificent natural scenery. If you're looking to combine the two, there's no shortage of options, from beachside cabins to lakefront hotels. The spot we're featuring today is perfect for anyone seeking a unique mountain getaway. This yurt in Stanardsville, Virginia is an amazing Airbnb for any season, with great mountaintop views, unique farm stay surroundings, and a fun glamping experience that you won't get with a traditional hotel or vacation rental home.
Welcome to the Cair Paravel Family Farm! This all-season escape is perfect for couples, friends, family, or solo travelers. Up to six guests can stay here, and it's a wonderful getaway for anyone who loves nature.
The yurt is 30 feet in diameter and is located on a working farmstead, so it's likely you'll come in contact with critters during your stay, if you so desire.
The yurt is basically a large tent, but there is some insulation, plus an HVAC system and seasonal gas stove, so it's definitely more climate-controlled than traditional camping.
You'll also get to enjoy amenities that you can't find on a traditional "roughing-it" campground adventure, like a full kitchen, HDTV, and Wi-Fi.
With two queen beds and two single futons, there's plenty of room for everyone to spread out. You'll find toys, games, books, and musical instruments for entertaining the whole family during your stay.
It's the outdoors that makes this place so special, though! Registered guests are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the property, and you'll have access to a charcoal grill and fire pit (note that fire pit availability depends on weather conditions, and if it's too windy or dry, the fire pit may be closed). You'll also enjoy a seasonal in-ground pool and seasonal hot tub - it doesn't get much better than that!
Registered guests also enjoy the use of on-property hiking trails (there are 58 acres to explore here), but if you'd like to explore further, you're not far from Charlottesville or Shenandoah National Park, so there are plenty of opportunities for nearby adventure.
