The Virginia Airbnb With a Next-Level Barrel Sauna That Redefines Cozy Season

From the hot tub to the barrel sauna, this winter getaway in Virginia redefines cozy season.

Summer tends to get the vacation reputation, but I’m a big fan of winter travels, especially nature-driven escapes. Winter is a time to restore, rejuvenate, and relax, and what better way to do that than this winter getaway in Virginia? This cabin in Shenandoah Valley is just the ticket to a weekend getaway surrounded by nature.

Personally, I prefer traveling in the winter over the summer. Fewer crowds, fewer bugs, and lower prices. I know it can get tricky when you have kids and have to plan vacations around school, but if you can sneak away for a family getaway this winter, you won't regret it!

You’ll find this charming cabin in Luray. It’s the perfect spot to call home while you explore some of the nearby attractions, including Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park (both are less than 10 miles away). But honestly, I wouldn’t blame you if you never left the cabin for your entire stay. The Airbnb sits on one acre of secluded, wooded land that you’ll have all to yourself.

The two-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin is the perfect mix of modern and rustic. White walls and decor lean towards a more modern design, with plenty of rustic details sprinkled throughout to make it truly feel like a secluded slice of paradise.

While there are plenty of wonderful restaurants in downtown Luray, you’ll find everything you need to whip up your own culinary creations in the kitchen. There’s also a full-sized washer and dryer, so you won’t need to do any laundry when you get home!

Hot tubs in Airbnbs are becoming more and more popular, but you don’t often see barrel saunas. I personally love saunas and will go out of my way to find a place to stay with a sauna. Not only are they a wonderful opportunity to unplug and sit with your thoughts for 20-30 minutes, but they’re incredible for your health. Finland leads the league in saunas, and they’re consistently ranked as one of the happiest countries on the planet. Maybe they’re onto something?

Thankfully, this winter getaway in Virginia has both a barrel sauna and a hot tub, so you can treat yourself to a relaxing soak or a sauna session whenever you want. Right in the same space is a fire pit with plenty of Adirondack chairs, which is just begging for a good old-fashioned campfire with your loved ones. Nothing beats a campfire on those chilly Virginia winter nights, and it’s even better once the sun goes down and the stars come out to play.

If you want a secluded cabin in Virginia to call home for a few days while you take advantage of the slower-paced travel that winter brings, you can’t do any better than this winter getaway in Virginia.
