Dream Spring Break in Vermont: Where I’d Go if Money Was No Object

This sleek, upscale vacation home perched on a hillside overlooking the mountains promises an unforgettable Vermont getaway.

Spring in Vermont is highly underrated. Tourism typically peaks in the autumn with the changing leaves, but we'd argue that spring is just as magical -- maybe even more so. As the landscape thaws, the maple sugaring season begins, and we daydream about our favorite warm-weather activities. I recently discovered an Airbnb near Woodstock, VT so stunning that it's officially earned a spot on my travel wish list. It's pricier than your average vacation rental, but if these glowing traveler reviews are any indication, it's worth the splurge.

Nestled on 22 private acres just a short drive from Woodstock, Vermont, Cloudborne Cabin is peak Vermont beauty. It's perched on a hillside overlooking sweeping views of the Mount Ascutney Valley and was designed by the award-winning architect MRDK. Driving up to this stunning retreat, you'll immediately notice the elegant, sleek design that blends in seamlessly with the landscape. This intentional craftsmanship continues inside, where details like Vermont-made furniture, double-paneled windows, and heated floors set the stage for a tranquil, inspired stay.

The home features three bedrooms with four beds and three-and-a-half baths, comfortably accommodating up to six guests. The space is open-concept, and the floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interior with beautiful views and natural light. A chef's kitchen is outfitted with everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal, plus a spacious dining area and two dedicated living rooms. One of my favorite features of all is the wood-burning stone, perfect for gathering around after a day filled with adventures.

Speaking of adventures, the property is conveniently situated about 30 minutes from some of the region's most popular skiing areas: Killington, Pico, Okemo, and Saskadena Six. All of these areas are still open for the season in early to mid-spring. There are also incredible opportunities for hiking if you'd prefer to swap ski boots for your trail shoes. The Pogue and Mount Tom Trail is a great option; it's a moderate hike that can be finished in about two hours. Afterward, treat yourself to a coffee from Abracadabra Coffee -- one of my all-time favorites for a festive seasonal drink!

Returning to Cloudborne Cabin, you can relax on the deck, soaking up that beautiful mountain vista as the sun disappears. When it's time to retire for the night, you can look forward to a quality night of sleep in any one of the bedrooms, complete with luxe linens and an en-suite bathroom with spa-like amenities.
