Over the years, hammocks have become popular ways to relax outdoors and for some outdoor lovers, they have become camping essentials.
To experience hammock camping, Utah State Parks has created hammock campsites in two of its state parks: East Canyon State Park and Red Fleet State Park. These campsites are perfect for families, friends, boy scout troops, and more.
Big Rock Campground in East Canyon State Park near Morgan is where you will find one of these hammock campsites. Here, you'll find a large metal structure where you can hang up to 10 hammocks at once.
These campsites also come with basic campground amenities like a picnic table and fire pit.
At Red Fleet State Park, located north of Vernal, the Red Fleet Campground also features this unique hammock camping structure. But, what sets this campground apart is free hammock rentals are available.
Hammocks are available to rent at East Canyon State Park but for an additional cost.
Because these campsites are limited at each state park, make sure to check availability and make reservations on the Utah State Parks website.
