This Airbnb in Texas Is Peak Fall Vibes

Can you believe that we’re already dreaming of fall? It’s the season that invites us to pause, inhale the crisp, fragrant air, and admire the peaceful beauty. It’s not much that I don’t enjoy about this time of year: the cozy sweaters, the glowing leaves, and the long scenic drives - I am always excited to welcome the change with open arms. One way to kick off the cheery season is to escape to a rustic cabin surrounded by autumn beauty. Luckily, I found this incredible Mid Mod A-frame bungalow in Scroggins, Texas, where we can live out our cool-weather fantasies. Plus, with nearby hiking trails, a winery, and an orchard, a stay at this cozy cottage in Texas will create the ultimate fall vibe.

Tucked on the banks of Lake Cypress Springs and surrounded by towering trees, this dreamy cabin is the ideal spot to experience the beauty of the fall season. Since the cabin is located within the Barker Creek Cottage community, guests can expect excellent accommodations with lots of amenities. Not to mention that the rental is conveniently located near hiking trails for outdoor fun. Moreover, Mt. Vernon and Winnsboro are just minutes away, so visitors can access incredible shopping and dining options. 

Recently remodeled, you’ll find updated appliances and all the modern conveniences for a comfortable stay. The two-bedroom Airbnb features a master suite with a queen-size bed and a fully stocked bathroom. The coolest part? The second bedroom is located in the loft, featuring a full bathroom, which means the little ones will have their own space to relax. Since the Airbnb accommodates up to four guests, it’s ideal for a small family.

Some of the amenities include multiple Smart TVs with Netflix, Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, a selection of books, and board games for entertainment. The open-air concept invites you to relax and interact with your family from multiple rooms. I love the modern furnishing with splashes of warm colors that make the bungalow feel cozy and inviting. I can’t get enough of the large windows overlooking the deck with views of the lake. I could easily see myself spending hours daydreaming while gazing at all that beauty.   

While the interior of the A-Frame is dreamy, the outside is where it shines. The furnished deck with a lake view invites you to sit and admire the trees as the leaves change. It’s a wonderful extension of the living room with lots of comfy seating and space to hang out, grill, and play games. Of course, the fire pit is the best spot to roast s’mores and snuggle on those chilly fall evenings.

The beauty of Texas in autumn is that the weather is never too cold to spend time outdoors, even on the water. The lake would be great for daytime activities, including boating and kayaking. Two kayaks are provided for fun on those pretty fall days. Fishing is popular in the area, too. And with a quick drive to Lake Bob Sandlin State Park, you can catch trout on the lake, hike the trails, and soak up the quiet autumn beauty. Leaf peepers, you’ll be inspired by the beautiful reds, oranges, and golden trees here.

Autumn isn’t complete without a visit to a farm. A charming family-owned and operated produce stand, Efurd Orchards, is located just 20 minutes away. This beloved farm offers the juiciest peaches and the best produce in the area. Plus, you can snap some cool family pics to add to your autumn collection. I’d recommend treating the family to yummy, fall-inspired homemade ice cream. The kids will love you for this! 

Adults, you will enjoy wine tasting and an intimate dinner at Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards. This is one of my favorite things to do in the fall. And when you’re done, head back to the Airbnb and savor a glass (or two) of the wine you purchased from the vineyard.
