This Charming Texas Airbnb Is Straight Out of a Hallmark Movie
You don't need snow for a Hallmark-style winter getaway. This cozy Airbnb in Texas checks all the boxes: small-town charm, antique furniture, and a fireplace perfect for snuggling up when it's cold outside.
When you think of Hallmark movies, you probably picture snowy mountain lodges, warm fireplaces, and Christmas romance. While those things are definitely peak Hallmark energy, Texas still has plenty of spots that provide the feel-good, nostalgic charm the films are known for. The only thing missing is snow!
One such place is The Cottage in Chappell Hill. This cozy Airbnb in Texas is everything Hallmark movies are about: the beautifully restored historic home was built in the 1900s, and it’s located on Main Street, just minutes from quaint shops and restaurants in one of the most charming small towns in Texas. Private, romantic, and postcard-worthy in every way, this farmhouse cottage offers an idyllic escape. It may not look like a winter wonderland outside, but you can still slow down and embrace the restful nature of the season.
Built in 1900 by German immigrant Charles Meister, The Cottage in Chappell Hill is a Victorian-style house that captures the essence of early American luxury. You'll feel at home before you even step inside, admiring the majestic Texas pecan trees in the front yard as you approach the entrance.
Original shiplap walls, Victorian sash windows, stained glass, and antique furniture give the house character and old-world charm, while modern amenities like a fully-equipped kitchen keep you comfortable.
The cottage sleeps up to four guests, featuring one bedroom with a king-size bed, plus a sofa bed and a couch in the living room. Not pictured here is a remote-controlled fireplace in the bedroom for maximum cozy vibes. When it's cold outside, you can stay snuggled under the covers with a book as you switch on the fireplace, reveling in the feeling of an empty to-do list.
In true Hallmark fashion, no detail has been spared. Guests especially love the antique vanity and sliding door in the bathroom, and the hosts even provide eye masks and blackout curtains to ensure you sleep soundly.
The front porch is the epitome of country charm, featuring rocking chairs made for relaxing with a cup of coffee while basking in winter's stillness. Barren trees, morning fog, and a silence so profound it's almost tangible create an ethereal ambiance that only happens this time of year. There's also an outdoor dining table overlooking a small pond on the property, and it isn't uncommon to see deer in the area during the cooler months.
As for the town itself, Chappell Hill is as Hallmark-worthy as it gets. With a population of around 300, everyone knows one another, and the close-knit community comes together for seasonal events like the annual Teddy Bear Parade in December. It's also in the heart of Texas Wine Country; Texas Star Winery is located right behind the cottage. A simple bundled-up stroll through downtown is a fantastic experience, as Chappell Hill boasts 10 sites on the National Register of Historic Places and over 25 Texas Historical Markers. And whatever you do, don't leave without grabbing a slice of pie from Bevers Kitchen.
