The Tennessee state park system is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained in the United States. You’ll find beautiful hiking trails and campgrounds throughout the state, and the stunning waterways are kept clean and clear, perfect for swimming and splashing. If you’d like to have an outdoor adventure without roughing it, we’d recommend booking an evening at one of the Tennessee state park lodges. We’ve included 5 below that are wonderful for outdoorsy folks as well as families and the most adventurous among us.
1. Fall Creek Falls Lodge
The Fall Creek Falls Lodge is one of the Tennessee state park lodges that really stands out from the rest. Fall Creek Falls State Park is the most-visited state park in Tennessee, both for its expansive hiking opportunities and the famed waterfall that is one of the highest east of the Mississippi River. You’ll find that the lodge boasts 85 guest rooms that overlook Fall Creek Falls Lake, and each is uniquely outfitted to serve visitors traveling alone, in groups, or perhaps extended families. 2. Natchez Trace Lodge
We’d recommend heading to the Natchez Trace Lodge if you’re looking to explore the 48,000-acres of land that surrounds it. The West Tennessee lodge is truly located in the wilderness of the state, and the lakeside rooms, meeting space, and dining areas all look out on the forested expanse of the area. There’s WIFI and an outdoor pool to enjoy, as well as a restaurant for dining after a long day out and about. 3. Lodge at Pickwick Landing
There’s nowhere more beautiful than the Lodge at Pickwick Landing if you’re looking to stay in a modern room with balcony views of Pickwick Lake. The vacation destination boasts boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, and golfing opportunities in the immediate area, and the lodge’s location just east of Memphis makes it a great spot for west Tennesseans to escape for the weekend. 4. Lodge at Montgomery Bell
Fall in love with the outdoors again with a stay at the Lodge Montgomery Bell! This natural retreat can be found just 40 minutes outside of Nashville, and it’s been fully remodeled to serve visitors with 117 guest rooms and 6,000-square-feet of outdoor space. It’s a great spot to host an event, or you can relax by the pool or in the on-site lounge for a solid weekend away. 5. Lodge at Henry Horton
The Lodge at Henry Horton rounds out our state park lodge list here in Tennessee, and it is a great spot for folks to vacation between Huntsville, Alabama, and Music City. Henry Horton State Park offers all sorts of fun things to do, like hiking, swimming, skeet shooting, golfing, and even canoeing!
