5 Last-Minute Getaways In Tennessee For A Fun End-Of-Summer Retreat

Summer Airbnb rentals can add a lasting and memorable experience to the carefree days when the kids are out of school. I have many fond memories of lazy summer days, exploring new places with my cousins, and feeling the sense of wonder that comes from these few magical months. When you add a vacation rental and spend the time as a family together it can make all the difference. We have alot of unique places to stay in Tennessee, but here are a few last-minute Airbnbs to make the most of those precious fleeting moments of summer break.

1. Dome Glamping - Gatlinburg, TN

Nothing beats a summer getaway to the Great Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg is one of the best places to visit and vacation, boasting a near-endless array of things to see and do. I love camping, but I also enjoy finding unique places to stay -- so this glamping experience gives offers the best of both worlds. You can have all the comforts of home hidden away in this beautiful geodesic dome all while still being positioned in the great outdoors. You can simply soak in the hot tub, roast s'mores over the fire, and meander near the trickling stream for a true camping experience. You also have the opportunity to be within very close driving distance to many of the great adventures and attractions waiting for you in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. " target="_blank">Riverfront Glamping Dome really does offer a tremendous stay and is the perfect place to end the summer before everyone goes back to school.

2. The White House On Shell Mountain - Sevierville, TN

Sevierville is a quickly developing beauty here in the Smoky Mountains. This town was once thought of as merely the "buffer" between Pigeon Forge and the busy interstate, but has now become a destination in and of itself. You can’t beat the views as you crest the hill heading towards the Smoky Mountains and with the White House on Shell Mountain, you can see that vista every morning! This stay is meant to be an (ahem) elevated experience where everything you need for a staycation is right in this mountain-top rental. There is an indoor pool with massive windows allowing you to have the most scenic views while swimming. Similarly, you can soak in the hot tub under the cover while ogling the most beautiful mountains in East Tennessee. There is plenty of room for a larger family gathering if you want to invite others along for the fun too. The multi-use game room is a place to challenge your family members for the top score and bragging rights, of course. Sevierville also has plenty of amazing attractions like one of my favorites the Scenic Helicopter Tours. Make your summer memorable with a luxurious stay in the Smokies.

3. The Band Wagon - Benton, TN

If you adore animals and/or all things Wild West, The Band Wagon is a place for you. Not only is it a clever name but you will be staying in a pioneering wonderland in this large covered wagon. This glamping experience is all done on the Ocoee Riverside Farm with stunning rolling hills. There are a lot of pictures that come to mind when you think of farms -- perhaps the new growth of fresh vegetables, or cows grazing in a field. There are certainly things you will find here too but there are a few other surprises in store. Sloths, camels, and kangaroos are among some of the other animals that live on the farm and better yet you will get the opportunity to interact with these lovable animals. A stay on The Band Wagon is a summer experience you won’t want to miss and trust me it gets a little wild on the farm.

4. The House of Blues - Memphis, TN

It goes without saying, but Memphis has some pretty amazing musical history. I know that Nashville gets all the credit when it comes to musical talent, but there are plenty of groundbreaking artists who have done some pretty incredible work in Memphis. The House of Blues is an Airbnb hub for all of your musical missions while in the city. Head on over to Sun Studio to see the very place where Elvis, B.B. King, and Johnny Cash recorded classical hits. Visit the King's home called Graceland while you are in town to see a property that is just as outstanding as the individual who lived in it. At night, mosey on over to Beale Street to catch a live show and make sure to stop by the B.B.Kings Blues Club for a meal and live musical performance. After a long day reliving the glory days of the music industry retire back to the House of Blues where you can enjoy all the creature confronts of home in a place that is decorated with musical heroes, the very people whose footsteps you just walked in.

5. The Cabin Retreat - Springfield, TN

There is something so endearing about a log cabin. It is like the pioneering spirit that urged settlers to push out west is still alive and well and going back to those simple times just seems like a welcome retreat from our busy world. At least, it is a romanticized idea and you can live out that fantasy in this lovely cabin in Springfield. The property in which this cabin sits is a stunningly beautiful place called Kelly’s Jubilee. This spot showcases many unique stays from a treehouse mansion to a landlocked ark. You can meander around the grounds and marvel at these wonderful structures or spend a cozy time inside The Cabin Retreat. Lounge around on the front porch, glide into the private hot tub and melt your worries away, or just spend time with a good book. This is just a great place to catch your breath and reset before heading back into the school year.

What do you think of these summer Airbnb rentals? There are lots of amazing places and things to do in Tennessee so why not make the most of it to soak up the last little bit of summer we have before schedules return to normal? So my friends I hope your Tennessee summer is incredible and filled with plenty of wild adventures so you and your family can have memories that will last a lifetime.
