The Best Features of This Tennessee Airbnb

From the moment you pull into the driveway of The Shiners Shire, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Middle-earth. Nestled into the enchanting countryside surrounded by the Forgotten Forest, this whimsical rental is an ideal place for both Tolkien fans and nature lovers.

An open floor plan reveals itself once you step through the iconic circular door. The attention to detail here is next-level, and you’ll find yourself constantly finding incredible decor hidden in plain sight. The family room seamlessly blends into the kitchen and dining area, with everything you need to cook up your meals.

Warm woods and intricate details create the perfect cozy atmosphere here. Earthen homes can be deceiving when it comes to space, but rest assured, there’s plenty of space for the whole family here. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom rental can accommodate up to seven guests comfortably, and each bedroom is more unique than the next.

I love this unique bed design and how it’s perfectly nestled into this little nook. Peep the cloaks on the wall!

Of course, this nature-inspired home offers plenty of outdoor amenities, too. Listen to the songbirds while you relax in the swing, or treat yourself to some time in the private hot tub.

When the sun begins to set, gather around the fire pit and enjoy some good conversations over roasted marshmallows while you wait for the night sky to do a little stargazing.

Nearby Attractions to Explore While Staying Here

Pigeon Forge is about a 30-minute drive away, giving you access to top attractions, including Dollywood and The Island in Pigeon Forge. Of course, since you’re in the area, I’d suggest a full send and drive a little bit further down to Gatlinburg, where you can explore this iconic mountain town all day long.

Smoky Mountains National Park offers endless hiking trails and waterfalls to explore, so be sure to allow enough time in your schedule. Cataract Falls is our top pick, followed by Laurel Falls. The Airbnb is about an hour drive to the park, which is the perfect day-trip adventure!

If you don’t want to drive down to Gatlinburg, Seven Islands State Birding Park is about five miles away! As one of the lesser-known state parks in Tennessee, it’s a bit of a hidden gem. Bird nerds will have a blast exploring this 416-acre state park that was made exclusively for birdwatching! This beautiful park is home to more than 200 bird species, and there are plenty of trails to explore. With a little patience and maybe a little luck, you could see everything from songbirds to hawks here. There are also a few abandoned barns that owls love.
