The Block Island Beach House opened last July, when the Lark Hotels brand took over the iconic Surf Hotel.

The Surf Hotel dates all the way back to 1873.

The Block Island Beach House still has a nostalgic vibe, but it's packed with modern amenities.

The Lark Hotels team understands the significance of the Surf Hotel, so they made every effort to preserve as much as possible.

Believe it or not, this hotel has the only beachfront rooms on Block Island.

The location is perfect.

The hotel offers King and Queen rooms, many with balconies overlooking the ocean.

The rooms are cozy and comfortable with a beachy theme.

The rooms here all have vintage touches that guests love.

A local artists, Matt Schwartz, was commissioned to create the original artwork found in each guest room against a backdrop of minimalist decor.

Not only are the rooms and the views fantastic, but you don't even have to leave the property to enjoy a good meal.

The Surf Shack offers outdoor beachfront dining. And if you'd rather enjoy your meal in your room, you can take advantage of the takeout cocktails.
