You Won’t Believe The Ghostly Tale Behind This Haunted Oregon Hotel

McMenamins Grand Lodge in Forest Grove, Oregon, is a historic and reportedly haunted hotel with unique amenities.

McMenamins Grand Lodge is an impressive hotel tucked away in Forest Grove, Oregon. This historic lodge was once a Masonic & Eastern Star property, and was built to be a home for poor, sick, and elderly Masons and their families. This building has been standing for almost a century now, and according to legend, it has a number of paranormal guests who have overstayed their welcome. Take a look at the notoriously haunted McMenamins Grand Lodge, which has what some believe to be a secret room, too...

The majestic Grand Lodge is located in Forest Grove, Oregon on more than 13 acres of land.

The building was built, starting in the 1920s, as a Masonic and Eastern Star Home for the state of Oregon. Over the years, it was used to house poor, elderly, sick, and distressed Master Masons and their families.

The quaint Children's Cottage is a neighboring building on the grounds.

This cottage was originally intended to be a home for orphans of Masons.

Life in the lodge was not always smooth sailing. In 1962, the Columbus Day Storm caused considerable damage.

The roof of the cottage was even torn off.

In 1999, the property was bought and renovated by McMenamins.

The building reopened on March 1, 2000 as the Grand Lodge.

Rumor has it that the McMenamins Grand Lodge secret room is haunted. There have been many reports of paranormal activity here.

One of the most common ghost sightings is of an elderly woman in a dress and slippers, walking down the hallways. She is said to bear a strong resemblance to a woman who lived in the building for many years.

Other stories involve witnesses seeing a child-like apparition standing on a balcony.

When the child is approached, he mysteriously vanishes. Many similar encounters have been reported at the lodge over the years.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, this quirky hotel has a lot to offer.

Guests will find a full-service spa, mineral soaking pool, four different bars and restaurants, and a movie theater at the lodge.

One of the coolest spots is Pat's Corner Bar.
