Step Into a World of Whimsy at the Famous Raleigh Mill House in North Carolina
Located near Five Points in Raleigh, this delightful Airbnb exudes charm and architectural artistry.
Hands-down, the best part about booking an Airbnb is experiencing a new-to-you home. Some Airbnbs border on luxurious, while others are rustic, but my favorites always have an element of the unexpected. And the famous Raleigh Mill House certainly qualifies. Part architectural gem, part treehouse, this eclectic space isn't just beautiful to look at; it's cozy and convenient to some of the best spots that Raleigh has to offer.
Nestled in a private garden, the Raleigh Mill House can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests. It has four bedrooms, six beds, and two and a half baths. From the moment you set foot inside, you'll notice the details that set this place apart from other rentals. The home was crafted by a local designer, emphasizing rare and unique wood. This gives the space an earthy, treehouse feel that's as beautiful as it is whimsical.
At the heart of the home are stunning, large circular windows that were once part of the NC State King Center. The owner was able to salvage them just before the building was demolished, and today, they're a beautiful and fascinating centerpiece. Other unique architectural features have been sourced from California's Mill Valley. As you explore, you'll fall in love with all the thoughtful details, such as the winding staircase and custom-built handrail.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to cook for your crew, but if you're not in the mood to prepare meals, plenty of fun restaurants are within walking distance. You'll be staying in Raleigh's historic Bloomsbury district of Five Points, boasting unique places to dine, coffee shops, bookstores, breweries, and more.
The bedrooms are beautiful, with abundant natural light and top-quality linens. The main bedroom feels a bit like staying in a private treehouse, and there's even a skylight for stargazing at night. Outside, there's a fire pit for gathering around and a stone path that will lead you through beautiful flowers and plants. Adding to the whimsy, there's even a koi pond!
By all accounts, this is a comfortable, welcoming, and lovely space. Recent travelers agree this is a special rental, far from your average stay. The unique architecture is the most talked-about feature; however, guests also appreciate the attentiveness to detail provided by the host and clear, helpful communication to ensure everyone's experience is seamless.
