From castles to barns to treehouses, you can spend the night in all kinds of places thanks to the wonders of modern technology. We love finding unique hotels in New York for you, and we've come across one that's luxurious, beautiful, and filled with history.
The little town of Accord, like many in New York, once had an active train depot.
The terminal was used for loading and unloading passengers, who could purchase tickets there.
After its retirement from service, Accord's train depot went through several lives, as a restaurant and bed and breakfast, among other incarnations. It's now been converted into a stunning home that is sometimes used as an Airbnb.
This place is absolutely incredible. The quirky, colorful vibe makes it look so cheery.
There's plenty of nifty reflections of the building's life as a train depot. Check out the ticket sales window that's still intact in the foyer.
The backyard even features a caboose! It's set up as a little eat-and-nap area, with a small table and daybed.
Accord is a small town with a population of less than 1,000, and the depot is located not far from the central area of town.
You'll be close enough to town for a day out and about, but not so close that you'll feel the hustle and bustle of a larger city.
The main bedroom has a queen bed and there's also these neat sleeper pods that are a great call-back to the sleeping accommodations on a train.
We're completely enamored with this spot and think you will be too! It's definitely near the top spot on our list of unique accommodations in New York.
