Book This Dreamy Campsite Along New Jersey’s Waterfront and You Won’t Be Disappointed

Leave your devices behind and spend peaceful days swimming, kayaking, or fishing at this secluded campsite in New Jersey.

Let’s be completely honest: primitive camping is not for everyone. Some of us prefer certain luxuries like air conditioning, a warm bath, and dare I say: Wi-Fi. However, there are times when letting go of our daily comforts can be good for our souls. One of my favorite things to do is to sit by a crackling campfire while listening to the melodious sounds of nature. And if there is a lake nearby where I can take a stroll or simply gaze at shimmering waters, I am sold. You can find that and more with a stay at Pine Creek Campground in Medford, New Jersey. If you can imagine sleeping underneath the stars and waking up to views of a serene lake, then this dreamy waterfront campground in New Jersey is for you.

Known as “one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024,” Pine Creek Campground does not disappoint. Tucked away on a secluded property, surrounded by gorgeous woodlands and a private lake, the campsite is the perfect escape.

Three spacious sites are available here, each with its own unique features. However, campsite one is by far the crowd’s favorite, and it’s easy to see why. It’s located right next to the lake, which means you’ll wake up to the best views in the house. The other two sites are tucked inside the wooded area, which offers more peace, solitude, and a closer connection with nature. Surrounded by a canopy of trees, the spots are shaded and cooler, especially in the warmer months.

What’s more? The rustic campground is large enough for a multi-family trip, so don’t hesitate to invite your friends and family. Both kid-friendly and dog-friendly, the campground has everything you’ll need for your time in nature. Though there are no electrical hookups or potable water, you'll be happy to know that the restroom facilities are extremely clean. Bring lots of drinking water, and you might need bug spray, too. Firewood for campfires is available for purchase, or you can search for wood in the surrounding area.

Leave your electronics behind and spend your days fishing, swimming, or paddling on the water. Or bring your favorite chair and a cooler and enjoy a peaceful day soaking up the gorgeous nature scenes. You can’t go wrong with packing a hammock and your favorite book, too. Or better yet, take a stroll around the lake and be on the lookout for turtles, deer, and birds as you trek. If you have your dogs and kids, they will spend hours playing and frolicking on the property all day.

Want to leave the campground? You’re in luck! There are lots of things to do and see in the charming town of Medford. Stop by the Medford Historical Society to learn about the history of the town. The kids would love picking fruit and playing with the barnyard pals at Johnson's Corner Farm. And you’ll adore the cute little downtown with the shops and local restaurants.

Once you’ve explored the area, return to your tent and light the campfire. Enjoy dinner at the picnic table, then sit by the fire pit, roast marshmallows, and gaze at the glowing sky. The older I get, the more I have learned to appreciate the simpler things in life, and this enchanting waterfront campground in New Jersey sounds like a dream come true. If you’re a nature lover, you won’t be disappointed.
