Camping in New Hampshire is one of our favorite ways to get lost in nature. Hikes and other explorations in the woods are great, but the ability to wake up in the woods and start having fun with friends and family is even better! There are tons of options throughout the state, but lately we're loving the ones that we don't hear about every day. This one, which is family owned and operated, sits right on a local pond and offers a great local experience.
Oxbow Campground in Deering is one of the most charming places in southern New Hampshire to spend the night under the stars.
Family owned and operated since 1972, Tom & Mary Irving and their children, Kayla & Thomas have been helping families enjoy time together for what seems like forever.
There are 112 large sites to choose from. Options range from waterfront to deep in the woods as well as nice and airy.
They can also accommodate everything from self-contained travel trailers to fifth wheels to motor homes and tents. The setups here are well-done and perfect for longer stays if that's what you'd like.
They even offer a few cabins located right on the fishing pond.
Speaking of the pond, it's lovely! It's perfect for those who want to enjoy the water, but aren't looking for a giant lake to contend with motorized boats.
And there's nothing like the view at sunset with the smell of a campfire in the air and the taste of s'mores on your tongue.
Stick around after the summer and you'll have the chance to enjoy some of the most beautiful fall foliage, too.
This is a special little spot, perfect for everything from first-time campers to seasoned outdoor-lovers.
Oxbow Campground operates from May through October. Seasonal options are also available. You can learn more about RV, tent sites and cabins by checking out their website. Rates range from $45 to $65 per night depending on the accommodation you choose. You can learn more about events and activities by following them on Facebook. They can be reached on 603-464-5952.
