One of its most family-friendly summer attractions is summer mountain tubing, where you shoot down a 400-foot drop on a slippery chute. There's even a conveyer belt to the top, so you can keep going again and again! Who says tubing in NH is only for the winter?

This ride is perfect for kids. They need to be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone, but smaller kids can ride with an adult.

There are plenty of other great thrills in this park as well. Kids will especially adore the giant swing at the base of the mountain that'll take you far higher in the sky than anything you've experienced before. It's a wild experience and one of the most enjoyable things to do in New Hampshire this time of year.

Along with this boom in visitors came the era of the grand hotel. While most of these classic structures didn't survive into the modern age, there is one that you can still stay at today. Check out the Omni Mount Washington Resort, one of the very best hotels in New Hampshire.

Omni Mount Washington Resort was designed by Charles Alling Gifford and constructed between 1900 and 1902. It is one of only three survivors of New Hampshire's era of grand hotels that flourished between 1880 and 1910. These elegant getaways were built to attract the elite class of tourists from cities like Boston.

Some things have changed since this scene in 1920, but much of the spirit and spectacle of Omni Mount Washington Resort remains the same a century later.

One of our favorite ways to escape the everyday is by heading to the off-the-beaten-path areas of the state. To us, that just means spots we don't often visit. When life gets busy, getting away to just about anywhere is a great way to reset, and one of the best remote resorts in New Hampshire, located on the banks of a lake, is a great example.
